The Health and Managed Care Association of Nigeria (HMCAN) is the premier umbrella body and self-regulatory organization for accredited Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) and managed care operators in Nigeria.
Founded in March 1998, HMCAN has been at the forefront of promoting and protecting the interests of private health insurance in Nigeria. We work closely with the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to improve service quality, ensure compliance, and drive the nation towards universal health coverage.
Headquartered in Lagos, HMCAN represents dozens of licensed HMOs across Nigeria, playing a critical role in shaping the regulatory and operational landscape of health insurance in the country.

HMCAN Inaugurated
The Health and Managed Care Association of Nigeria was officially inaugurated in March 1998 to promote and protect the interests of private health insurance in Nigeria.
